SUMMARY:Discover the Niña & Pinta Replicas Ships
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday the 7th of November\, the Niña & Pinta will open in Scottsboro\, AL. The Ships will be docked at Goose Pond Colony Resort\, 417 Ed Hembree Dr\, Scottsboro\, AL\, 35769. The Ships will be open everyday through Tuesday the 12th of November. \nThe Niña was built completely by hand and without the use of power tools. Archaeology magazine called the ship “the most historically correct Columbus replica ever built.” Historians consider the “Caravel” the space shuttle of the 15th Century and was used as early as the 13th Century and into the 16th Century. Today\, both ships tour together as a floating museum for the purpose of educating the public and school children on the Caravel\, a Portuguese ship used by Columbus and many early explorers during the “Age of Exploration.” \nThe general public is invited to step back in time & explore the Niña & Pinta for self guided tours from 9:00a-5:00p. No reservations are necessary. Tickets are purchased at the Ships location and prices are $10.00 for Adults\, $9.00 for Seniors (60+)\, and $8.00 for Children/Military (5 – 18). Children 4 and under are Free. PRICE INCLUDES BOTH SHIPS. \nTeachers or organizations wishing to schedule a 30 minute guided tour with a crew member during the weekdays should go to ninapinta.org/tour/html. Group tours require a minimum of 15 people. Please call 251-293-4193 or email ninapintatour@gmail.com for any inquires.

SUMMARY:Annual Trail of Tears Commemorative Motorcycle Ride
DESCRIPTION:This event is the largest motorcycle rally in Northern Alabama and the largest organized motorcycle ride in the world! The purpose of the ride is to commemorate the event in our history known as the ‘Trail of Tears.’ The Trail of Tears was part of a series of forced relocations of approximately 100\,000 Native Americans between 1830 and 1850 by the United States government\, known as the Indian Removal. Members of the Cherokee\, Muscogee (Creek)\, Seminole\, Chickasaw\, and Choctaw nations (including thousands of their black slaves) were forcibly removed from their ancestral homelands in the Southeastern United States to areas to the west of the Mississippi River that had been designated ‘Indian Territory.’ Read More Here: https://www.al-tn-trailoftears.net/the-ride/introduction.
