From US‑72 and AL‑279 south of Scottsboro, head east ~12.4 mi on US‑72 to CR 116, then turn onto CR 116 → CR 141, and follow a gravel road ~1.4 mi to the pumping station entrance.

Approximately 12 miles east of Scottsboro, the WMA spans about 8,003 acres of wetlands and moist-soil habitat along Mud Creek.

Access & Fees:
Entry is free. Gates allow vehicle access mid-September through April; foot entry is allowed year-round. Camping is permitted at designated sites with a limit of 9 days per 30-day period.

Activities:
Bird-watching, nature photography, camping (primitive), and licensed waterfowl or small game hunting are the main attractions. Waterfowl hunting is restricted on certain days; motorized boats are prohibited in dewatering units.
